Message from our Secretary, Pat Doyle.

Dear members,

I hope you are all enjoying this spell of great weather. A good time for the outdoors. Following our AGM I want to update you on our important activities since then. As you are aware from your reading of our Annual Report booklet we will be meeting the company in relation to the new Phone/Broadband deal in the near future. I have exchanged emails with the company and we have agreed to meet. We are waiting on a confirmed date.

You will also be aware from your reading of the  Annual Meeting Report booklet and also from discussion at the AGM if you were able to attend, that we are currently running a Plebiscite with the aim of having a pensioner appointed to each of the two Superannuation Funds. Our current AOEP membership is 5998 and Executive members are putting significant effort in all of our regions seeking support from you all. At this time of writing we have just over 1,100 ballots received. We need just over twice this number and we are confident at this point with three weeks to go until 31st May of achieving the number. However I believe with your support we can do better and take the figure to over 3,000 at half our membership. That would be a strong message of your support. If you have already voted, many thanks. If not please read page 9 of the Annual Meeting Report booklet and the included one pager “Ballot Paper”. It will tell you how you can vote. You can also vote from the home page of our website AOEP.eu.

So the next three weeks will be busy for the Executive members in their efforts on the Plebiscite in each region. Please give them all the support by voting.

I will issue the minutes of AGM to the Executive in early June. I will also update the membership again on the result of the Plebiscite at that time. In the meantime if you have any queries please do not hesitate to email or phone me.

Kind regards,
Pat Doyle
